Humboldt University
I have extensive editorial design experience, specializing in print design and visual storytelling. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working on a variety of projects, including designing four comprehensive books (70+ pages each) for Humboldt University in California. These books served not only as educational resources but also as a key part of the University's rebranding efforts, where my designs were integral to establishing a refreshed brand identity.
My work involved careful concept development, layout design, and precise typography to ensure the final products aligned with both the University’s vision and modern design strategy principles. I utilized InDesign for production, focusing on user-centered design to ensure that each page was engaging and easy to navigate. Throughout the process, I collaborated closely with teams, providing creative direction and refining the design through an iterative approach, always keeping in mind the importance of user experience (UX) and brand consistency.
In addition to book design, I have experience in art direction, integrating photography and color theory to enhance the visual appeal of any project. Whether working on a single piece or a larger suite of collateral, I bring a holistic approach to graphic design, emphasizing aesthetics without sacrificing function. I believe design should not only capture attention but also communicate effectively, creating a seamless connection between the message and the audience.
